Curiosity and Inquiry

The big takeaway in my opinion of the video is that it seems that most students are too focused on their marks rather than actually learning the subject materials. The really only question that I thought about was why do people rather look up an answer online than just ask someone in person. Is it the anonymity that the internet offers? Curiosity and Inquiry has only made it’s way into my education when I haven’t understood something or to look up alternate methods on how to do something. I only see myself as a curious person on certain subjects that actually interest me rather than most school subjects, due to me having a “i don’t care” attitude. I’m very much a do it to get it done type of learner, i watch and do whats necessary to get at least a decent grade and then move on to the next thing. I am someone who is very extrinsically motivated. As for values around education, it’s pretty much do whatever you can to get into a high paying job. My thoughts on education used to be health and family over anything, but now it’s entirely opposite, education over everything else. Anything short of dying, you’re in that classroom doing work. My family is my only motivation to try hard in school, i’ve seen them struggle with money my whole life and I do not want that for my future, I want to succeed and have a stable atmosphere for my family to grow up in. My teachers in high school are the one’s who pushed upon me the mentality of school over everything, and I thank them for it because if they hadn’t i wouldn’t of tried at any of my course’s.
