Anxiety Amongst Teens

Post 1

Have you ever wondered how many teens and young adults are afraid to talk about their Mental Health specifically when it comes to the amount of anxiety they undergo during school?

This happened to me about two years ago when I myself had started to notice that I had anxiety and I was afraid to talk to anyone about it, in fear of being judged. This topic is something that most people do not really talk about or try to avoid when brought up into a conversation. It has become more noticeable that the reason for this could be the fact that most teens and young adults are afraid of how people might see them if they openly talk about this with parents, teachers, peers, etc. This topic deserves more exploration and uncovering to see what are the main causes of their anxiety, how it could possibly affect their academics, and how it can affect their relationships with others.

What Factors Play Into Mental Health?

Could School be the main Cause?

Anxiety and Mental health, in general, is a topic that is not openly talked about as much as it should be.

These two articles go hand and hand when it comes to touching bases of a few situations that young adults and teens have encountered based on the fact that both articles conduct their research and conclusions from surveys. With this topic, there are many other aspects and research that could be conducted to find the leading cause of anxiety among younger people. They both talk about how adults play a major role in whether teens and young adults feel comfortable talking about the situation or even know that their family members have anxiety. This can lead to the adults not believing or understand what they might be going through. Some other things that are helping teens and young adults be more open about their mental health might be the fact that some of their favorite celebrities or influencers are being more open about their mental health. The only downside to this is that there is a handful of people who believe that some of these celebrities or influencers could be faking it for “clout” or “fame”, so their audience can relate to them.
